(A Tardy) Milspouse Friday Fill-in #8

Okay, I have been a little busy this weekend getting my household goods delivered and mostly unpacked and put away.  I love having all my stuff, especially my bed, but it makes me miss my puppies because they are not running among this stuff like normal.  Here is my late Milspouse Friday Fill-In.  Thanks to wifeofasailor for the questions every week.  If you are new to the game and want to play just click on the button.
And away we go...
What is ONE thing you’d like civilians to understand about being a military family?
That life isn't always about reaching that date when you can "get out."  We have a volunteer Army and with that some people volunteer for more than some easy money or quick work experience they do it as a Career.  Yes, the Army has a lot of negatives associated with it but there are a lot of good things, too, and most of whether you have a good experience is what you make of it.  So if you sit there counting the days til it's over you miss the good things are that are there for you, too.

What is your favorite mistake?
Getting Bubbles.  I took him temporarily while my neighbor tried to find his owner but once he came to my house he fit in with my "pack" almost instantly but most importantly he had been so neglected he had flea sores on the inside of his legs and showed signs of abuse.  My heart broke looking in to those cocoa brown eyes every time he flinched or screamed for attention.  After a couple of days, I stopped looking for the owner and took him to the vet to have him microchipped and neutered.  Now he is the resident jester who is guaranteed to make you laugh and raise your spirits.
Bubbles in his Halloween costume.  He was the "Bubble Bee."

What indulgence could you give up for a year?
Cherry Coke.  Although, I love this stuff I know that having a lot of it is so bad for me.  I have given it up for iced tea (not sweet either) and have been just fine.  I relapse every once in a while when I am overwhelmed swimming in stress (like with my move to Korea) but after a while when I have put on a few pounds I kick the coke. :)

If you could be a winged animal, what would you be?
I would be a Pegasus.  I know it is a mythical creature but when I was little and played with My Little Ponies my Pegasus was my favorite.  It is just so beautiful to have a majestic horse with wings.  Also, I think birds are gross, dirty, bug infested animals and although Bald Eagles are awesome to watch I don't want to be one.

What is one question you’d like to see asked in a future MFF?
Ten years ago where did you think your life would be?  Where do you think your life will be in ten years from now?
