Friday Fill-In

Wifeyofasailor had a great idea for Fridays and that was to answer a few questions.  Y'all know how I love things like this so I was instantly in!  Feel free to check out the other participants by clicking on the button.

Here is this week's questions and my responses:
  1. How did you and your spouse/significant other meet?
  2. >>Long story short my husband and I met while were in college.  I worked at Dairy Queen with his sister.  One night he came in while I was working and he thought I was cute so he asked his sister to get my phone number.  He had some issues getting through to talk to me (forgot the area code because even though we only lived about 8 miles apart it was in two different states) but finally called me while he was in the drive thru at Jack in the Box.  Even had the nerve to ask me to hold on while he ordered a Diet Coke.  We had issues getting our schedules to work out because of his hectic schedule with National Guard and ROTC but eventually everything worked out and the rest is history.
  3. What is the best thing about being a MilSpouse?
  4. >>The best thing about being a MilSpouse is the opportunities to get to see places and live in places that I would never have ever had the oppotunity or maybe even the want to go to.  This is a double edged sword though because moving frequently sucks.
  5. What is the hardest thing about being a MilSpouse?
  6. >>The hardest thing is having my husband gone all the time.  He has been away for most of the time we have been married.  He has been either deployed, in a school, at training or in Korea.  I wish I could say it makes the time we have together more special but having to get to know each other and learn all their habits over again is taxing.
  7. What is your favorite dish?
  8. >>Chile Rellenos.  I have tried to make them and they were ok.  The ones you get in NM and TX are okay but just not what I have come to love.  El Caporal in Cle Elum, WA has the best that are sort of like a green chile omelet and a close second was Las Margaritas in Anchorage, AK. Num!
  9. If you could change one thing in this world, what would it be?
  10. >>This is the hardest question of the five for me.  I would have to say people's acceptance of ignorance.  It seems people are too okay with not trying to be educated or even open minded.  Parents are too okay with their kids just passing even when it wasn't their best effort.  Such a shame.

I absolutely agree with your #5! When we have kids, I don't care if they get As or Cs... as long as they do their very best. But Heaven help them if they were to get a B and weren't doing their very best! My parents were the same way with us.

Thanks for participating!
